Clarity Pro subscriptions are billed through your device's app store. Clarity does not process payments directly, so all subscription changes must be made through Apple or Google.

On iPhone or iPad (iOS)

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then tap Subscriptions.
  3. Select Clarity from the list.
  4. From here you can change your plan, or tap Cancel Subscription to cancel.

You can also manage subscriptions directly within the Clarity app by going to Settings and tapping Manage Subscription.

On Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store app on your device.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top right corner.
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  4. Select Clarity and choose Cancel subscription.

You can also manage subscriptions directly within the Clarity app by going to Settings and tapping Manage Subscription.

If you don't see a "Cancel" option, your subscription has already been canceled and will not renew.

Because payments are processed by Apple and Google, refund requests must be submitted directly to them. Clarity is unable to issue refunds on their behalf.

Request a Refund on iOS

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
  2. Find the Clarity charge and select Request a refund.
  3. Choose your reason and submit the request.

Request a Refund on Android

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions > Budget & history.
  3. Find the Clarity transaction and tap it.
  4. Select Refund and follow the prompts.

Cloud Sync lets you back up your entries and sync them across multiple devices. It's optional and off by default - your data stays on your device unless you choose to enable it.

Enable Cloud Sync

  1. Open the Clarity app and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Cloud Sync and toggle it on.
  3. Sign in with your Apple or Google account.

Your entries will be encrypted and stored securely on Google Cloud servers via Firebase.

Syncing Not Working?

  • Ensure you're signed into the same Apple or Google account on all devices. Check this under Settings > Cloud Sync.
  • Verify you have a stable internet connection.
  • Make sure you're running the latest version of Clarity.
  • Try toggling Cloud Sync off and back on.

Transferring Data to a New Phone

Before switching devices, enable Cloud Sync on your current phone. Once your entries are synced, simply sign into the same account on your new device and enable Cloud Sync there. Your entries will appear automatically.

Clarity is designed with your privacy in mind. By default, no account is required and all data is stored locally on your device.

  • No account required: You can use Clarity's core features without creating an account or providing any personal information.
  • Local storage by default: Your journal entries, mood data, and assessments stay on your device unless you opt into Cloud Sync.
  • Passcode protection: Protect the app with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode via Settings > Passcode Protection.
  • Data deletion: You can delete individual entries at any time, or delete all data by uninstalling the app (if Cloud Sync is off) or by clearing your synced data in Settings.
